How to Avoid Foreclosure While in Bankruptcy
My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: I am currently in Chapter 13. My bankruptcy will be paid off at the end of this year. I have fallen behind on my mortgage payments and faced with foreclosure. What can I do to stay in my home? My mortgage company is hard to work with and will not let me catch up the payments or do a loan modification. What other options do I have instead of loosing my home? Are there programs to help and if so where do I go?
Re: How to Avoid Foreclosure While in Bankruptcy
You should start by discussing your options with the lawyer who represented you in the prior bankruptcy proceedings, including the possibility of having your additional mortgage arrears rolled into you Chapter 13 plan.
