Can Debt a Collector Go After Your Spouse If You Default on Your Credit Card Debt
My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: FLORIDA
3 years after loosing my job I had collected credit card debt ($5000) that was only under my name. I have returned back to Canada to work, but my Husband has 2 years left on his contract before he moves back. We own a home and have a joint bank account.
Question? Can they go after my husband or our communal property to pay the debt?
Thank you!

It is unlikely, given Florida law, that a creditor would attempt to reach marital real estate.
It is possible that they would try to recover the money that you owe, post-judgment, from a joint bank account.
