B1/B2 One Month Single Entry Visa with Annotation
    Hi,

    I received my US Visa:
    Entries: 1
    Issue date: 29 Aug
    Exp. date: 09 Oct
Annotation: University of Texas at Austin, Austin, TX

And i already have an invitation letter from the University of Austin for my training course from 03 OCT to 07 OCT at Texas
it`s my primary purpose and that`s what i told the consular officer at the embassy ...

But it`s my first time to USA and i would like to make some tourism one week before the course as:
    Arrival JFK 24 Sept
    NYC for 2 days
    Arrival MCO 27 Sept
    ORLANDO 4 days
Road trip from Orlando to Texas 02 OCT
Training course from 03 OCT to 07 OCT
    Departure IAH (Houston) 08 OCT

Is this allowed with the given annotation?

    Thanks!
    Rami S.

Is the visa marked "R" (restricted)? If so, an attempt to enter significantly before the commencement of the specified event is more likely to be problematic.

    It says Issue Date 8/29

    Expiration Date 10/9

That means that the visa is good now...it was good as of 8/29. There is absolutely no problem with him going a week or so early.

    Visa: R
    Type/Class: B1/B2
but R means Regular not Restricted

Yes, i just want to spend a week before the training course but i`m just thinking about 2 things:
    1) i know there is no time restriction on my annotation but i have an invitation letter with a specified time 3-7 OCT, So is it a time restriction ?!
    2) i know there is no place restriction as (ex: Texas Only) on my annotation but i have (University of Texas at Austin, Austin, TX) written, So is it a place restriction ?!

Honestly, it`s an important issue to me, so please advise as possible, as i wanna start the reservations depending on your advice's

    thankx a lot

No, your invitation letter is NOT a restriction. You visa is good now. You could go now and leave by Oct 9th and be perfectly fine.
