Well aren't you just a clever little sociopath. This is not the "how do I break the law and get away with it" forum. It matters now how much you like WalMart as a corporation.

Kinda makes me wish I knew someone who worked LP in Massachusetts. That and a little cyber-detective work.....

If I'm going to commit this crime the least I can do is make it difficult for walmart to track me.

You haven't. They'll RMA the iPad to Apple, Apple will identify the mismatched serial numbers, and Apple will identify you as being the user of the stolen iPad. WalMart has you on video, and upon use Apple can provide your name, address, credit card information, and IP address.

The new ipad that I got from walmart has not been turned on yet or registered, I will not turn it on for a good 6 to 8 months from now. I might even wait a year depending on the statute of limitations for this misdemeanor.

    It's a felony.

What is the threshold in MA that makes it a felony? Also doubtful that apple would provide that type of information for just an iPad. Considering their hesitation to even unlock an iPhone.

Yah.... It's not our fault that you're not very bright.

Intelligence has little to do with this. This is a law forum, so educate me on what makes this a felony as opposed to a misdemeanor in Massachusetts.

In your case, no question, intelligence certainly seems to have nothing to do with your decisions.

If anybody cares, a person with even a whit of intelligence would have no problem finding this.

OP: I know you're banned but coming back here to check replies

You act like you're the first person ever to cook up a scheme like this. Trust me, people have been doing this for ages, especially with expensive items like electronics and jewelry.

You might pull it off...and you might not. You'll be on camera. The LP can put two and two together. Yes, the stores all talk to each other. They talk to manufacturers. They talk to cops. They are good at catching thieves.

You will spend a lot of your time wondering if that knock on the door will come.

By the way, the lawyer will cost more than the iPad.

Sleep tight! I know I do. I don't steal.
