Can You Get Emancipated So You Can Live With Your Adult Boyfriend

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Utah. My parents want to move to Florida but i dont i was planning to move out with my boyfriend who is 18 but my dad has threatened to call the police on him. So i want to get emancipated so i wont cause any problems for my parents or my boyfriend. I work at a fast-food restaurant and get paid $8 an hour and work for 25 hours or more a week, i can go live with my boyfriend who also works for a painting company and gets paid $12 an hour and pays $400 of rent and pays his bills separte. So i want to know if i would qualify to get emancipated soon, because my parents want to leave by september 25th.

You do not qualify to be emancipated and there isn't a judge in the country who would emancipate a teen for the reasons you suggest.

Better start packing - you're going to Florida.

The emancipation law in Utah states that you must demonstrate that you can live independently- that means on your own, period.

No judge is going to grant you emancipation so that you can go live with a boyfriend.

Pack plenty of sunscreen.

And before you ask, HE can get into trouble if you run away and he refuses to send you right back home and the same applies for any other adult who harbors you.

"I don't want to move" is not a valid reason for emancipation in any state in the US.

No judge anywhere is going to emancipate a minor so that she can live with her boyfriend.

If you cannot pay every penny of what it takes to support yourself without your boyfriend's help, you do not qualify for emancipation anyway.

Three reasons why the answer is an unqualified NO.

How old are you?

Doesn't matter. If she's under 18 (and I doubt she'd be pointing out that her boyfriend was 18 if she is 18 or older) the above applies.
