Can You Refuse to Have Undocumented Conversations With Your Co-Parent
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Florida
I use the term co parent loosely and am not entirely sure I'm posting this in the right place. I was wondering if I can refuse to have an undocumented conversation with the other parent? In Florida you have to have two party consent to record any conversation that would be expected to be private, such as in person conversations that are not in a public place or phone conversations. Due to the other party's' uncooperative demeanor, aggression, and attitude I wish to only have contact that is documented for my own protection. I plan on letting said person know that I will be recording all phone conversations and if they wish to not have them recorded then to contact me via text or email so there is no room for error. Is this within my personal rights?

Why not ask the court to order Family Wizard as a means to communicate?
Re: Can I Refuse to Have Undocumented Conversations with Co Parent
It really seems to be a great tool and would probably be beneficial in your situation. I think it's 99 dollars a year per party, or something like that, so if it is something you are really serious about, you should offer to pay the other parent's portion too. Just a thought to preemptively squash any objection they might have for financial reasons.

Nothing has been taken to court yet. Trying to prevent damage for when the case does get into motion.

Consider negotiating/talking in front of a court approved mediator.

If nothing has been to court yet you could simply tell the other parent that you are only willing to communicate via email or text.

Thank you! I just wanted to make sure this was an option.
