Well the mother went into my accounts and tried to cover up that she added the phone numbers to my Facebook account. Isn't deleting something from another persons email illegal?

Having sex with a 15 year old is illegal too.

Are you TRYING to get yourself arrested?

I am a professional computer programmer, and I am appalled at the answers I'm seeing in this thread. This website is called ExpertLaw, but it's clear to me that the people here are not experts in computer law.

What the mother did here is definitely against federal law. The fact that the mother believes she is protecting her child is immaterial. The fact that the OP is having legal troubles of his own is immaterial.

Just ask former news anchor Larry Mendte. He hacked into a co-worker's email. He said he was trying to protect his family. That co-worker had legal troubles of her own. Yet, Mendte still plead guilty to violations of federal law.

I would suggest that the OP go to the FBI's website and report the mother.

    https://tips.fbi.gov/

The FBI probably will not care about any local laws the OP violated, as local laws are not within the FBI's jurisdiction.

Who just happened to come across this exact thread today? Color me dubious.

Please show me exactly where anyone said that the mother did not violate any laws.

What we are trying to get through to this kid is that he's got bigger problems than someone playing with his Facebook account and that it would be in his best interest to let this go.

And quite frankly, if you seriously think the FBI is going to expend more than about a minute and a half on this, you're delusional.

Kid, you go right ahead and report the mother to the FBI. Come back and tell us when she gets thrown in jail. Be prepared with sources we can independently verify or be prepared to be called a liar.

The FBI went after Larry Mendte.

Like Larry Mendte, she might get only house arrest. But she will have a criminal record.

The FBI went after a public figure who accessed the emails of another public figure. That's a very far cry from going after an unknown individual who changed the passwords of the Facebook account of another unknown individual.

I stand by my declaration that the FBI aren't going to waste any time or public money on this.

I really do not think the FBI would look into this considering this 'adult' is looking at statutory rape. It is going to seem like he is trying to get out of it.

He needs to reset his password, say "log out of all devices" when he does it, stop talking to this girl and go find someone his own age before he ends up on the sex offender registry and getting assaulted in jail.

And I wonder what the mods would see if they compared the IP addresses of the OP and TechWorker.
