What medical condition do you have that you think excuses domestic violence?

Your "medical condition" might modify where and how you might serve any sentence, if convicted, but it will almost certainly NOT legally excuse your actions.

I was initially diagnosed with with an unspecified depressive disorder. I was put on an anti depressant. I became very angry from one second to the next about 2 weeks after taking the medication That's when the incident occurred. My therapist later had me have a evaluation and was then diagnosed with bipolar 2 disorder. The fact that I was taking an anti depressant without a mood stabilizer could have contributed to the episode I had. I know there will be consequences for my actions. I don't think it will excuse my behavior, but maybe not charged with DV that is going to ruin my life.

Eh? If you committed an act of violence as identified by the statute against someone who meets the relationship test (spouse, child, mother of your child, etc...). Frankly, anything that you could possibly come up with as a psychological problem to dry to mitigate this is likely to have pretty severe legal consequences as well.

You need to be talking to a lawyer. There's no magic way we can invent a defense for you not knowing just what happened (and you are NOT the one who will be able to relate the situation to us).

You'll need a lawyer to grab at this extremely tiny straw.

Funny - my ex used to try to "excuse" or get out of his attacks on me by saying he "blacked out" because of his meth use. Get a lawyer.

    That's easy:

Not guilty by reason of insanity. Defendant to be confined to a mental institution until cured.

Count on several years in the nut house.

Or maybe a quick lobotomy to make you docile.

And if he thought the repercussions of DV convictions were bad, having an involuntary commitment on your record is even worse...
