What to Do About a Juvenile Capias
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Wisconsin. Recently I found out I have a warrant for my arrest. The thing is its been issued since 2012, which was when I was a juvenile. Now I am 20. I didn't receive a letter or anything telling me about this warrant. I've been ID'd by cops before (before I knew I had a warrant) & they didn't arrest me. I just find it odd that if it was still active would I be taken away? I'm planning to call the juvenile office but would like to know what would happen to me first, since I am a single mother now. Please and thanks.

First, they do not have to send you a letter when a warrant is issued.

Second, if the warrant is still good and enforceable (and there is no reason to think it is NOT enforceable) then you could find yourself arrested. However, you may be able to work out a court appearance on the matter. Whether they will be amenable to an appearance rather than hooking you up may depend on what offense the warrant is for.

My suggestion to you would be to engage the services of an attorney to look into this matter for you and to offer you advice.
