    Can You Appear by Video if You Can't Make it to a Court Hearing
    My question involves child abuse or neglect in the State of: oklahoma. I cannot afford an attorney at this time and i have court may 6 in tulsa to terminate parental rights. I live and work in Santa Cruz, California. I cannot take off in time for court. What can i do?

    You can contact the court clerk to inquire as to the ability to attend telephonically or any other electronic means.

    Are you trying to avoid the TPR? Are you the party initiating?

    Call the court ASAP. You don't have much time. You generally have to file a written motion and get the consent of the judge far enough in advance so the phone connection can be arranged.

    If the court won't allow it and you don't show up, then you lose whatever it is that you don't want to lose.

    If this is a CPS case, you might be able to get appointed counsel. But if you are risking losing your parental rights, YOU NEED TO SHOW UP IF YOU STILL WANT THE CHANCE TO BE A PARENT TO YOUR CHILDREN.
