Criminal Charges After Splitting the Assets of a Closing Business
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Mississippi
Back in 2011 I opened up a shop buying batteries and other scrap cores keep in mind I never got a license of business as my partner at the time said he would do so... 9 months down the road watching the books we caught a total of 16,000.00 missing as my profit in the 9 months... Before I caught this my partner and my father opened a shop 100 miles from me My father got a business license in his name that caused issues and arguments between the 2 my dad had the shop opened for 3 months when he only received 1000.00 from our partner to buy goods... My father's 3rd month opened we talked about what we should do and came to mind of just shutting both shops down at the same time... I took half merchandise out of my shop as my dad did the same Some how my dad has a fta out on him for a charge he was never arrested or finger printed... it's got me pretty upset still today..
My father served 26 yrs in the u.s. army and never has had even a ticket... What way should we try and tackle this? Is there any way we could counter sue? How is there an fta (failure to appear) ? He found out when he was gonna buy a firearm and came back saying he had outstanding crimes withholding him from a purchase.... I checked my self in both cities and came out clean... Please help thanks in advance

It should have your father even more upset.

Your father should consult a criminal defense lawyer.

You don't "countersue" in a criminal case.

If in fact it's a FTA warrant, it's because a judge issued the warrant following a hearing that your father was supposed to attend.
