Pretending to be a Minor After Getting Caught Shoplifting

I got caught stealing at walmart but police not involved. i gave the Loss provention ppl a fake birthday and said i was a minor they told me i would jsut get a fine? iw as wondering if they could actually figure out i was 18 and what would happen to me? they just took my school id and otld me i might get af ine :

i want to add they he told me not to worry cuzi asked aobut court and he said no he didnt call the police, he was just gonna put my name into the database and i should get something in the mail. I should just get a fine. Was wondering what would happen cuz item was worth only like 6 bucks?

It's not technically a fine. Expect a letter from Walmart's "lawyers" demanding money for the difficulty you've caused them. The magnitude they demand is pretty much whatever they can get away with under state law (which you decided not to bother to answer that question). Expect a few hundred dollars even if the item was only $6 and even if they got it back.

You can expect to not get a job in any retail position for the next seven or so years.

If you were given a tresspass order, stay out of walmarts.

No matter what else happens, stop stealing.

Does that mean i wont get prosecuted ? Also they had me sign an admission of guilt for takin the item what is that for?

It's possible, but extremely unlikely. The admission is so they have amunition to send the demand for civil payment and so that they have justification for entering you into the Database of Thieves.

Also will they likely find out my actual age? and if they found out i wasn't a minor would it be a big issue?

Well since you are a thief and a liar, if they find out -- which they could -- expect then that charges could be pressed. You just like making stupid choices don't you? And don't say you just made a mistake.
