How Do I Figure Out if I Have a Warrant
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Illinois

Hi, all this is my first post to the forum. So, far after reading through a few threads on here it has helped me immensely and has actually helped me learn a few new things! Which I'm grateful for, it's a god send. Thank you for all you're contributions to this board in general.

Back to the subject at hand...

In 2014, I was 18 and I committed theft crime at a school and sold the "Item" at a shop in another county, then was given a check and cashed the check in my town...(Too bad I can't turn back time). Fast forward to 2016, I have long since moved away from my town (out of state). However, all my family lives in that town and I can't stay away forever. I must return soon. I'm pretty paranoid/nervous about the whole situation (I hope I didn't give away to much information lol. So after purveying all the necessary information....my question is

"How do I figure out if I have a warrant out for my arrest?" "What awaits me back home?"

My life depends on it. My whole family would be disappointed in me and I would be disappointed in myself...But if I have to man up and take it, I will (Worst Case Scenario) I'm sure this thread could accommodate many who come looking for similar information.

Once, again thank you for all your contributions to this board.

    Best Regards,

Contact a criminal defense lawyer in that county and see what it will cost you to have the lawyer check to see if there is any warrant outstanding for you. If there is, the lawyer can then advise you the best way to deal with the warrant.
