Can You Buy a Plane Ticket for a Minor Without Her Parents' Knowledge
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Florida and New Jersey
Hello, well my situation is that my best friend had been forcibly moved away to Florida by her parents in order to prevent her from attending a certain music college in New Jersey. I had already talked with my parents and they said they would gladly support her and would welcome her to stay with us if she were able to move back here. We both have the same birthday and are currently only 17 turning 18 in February. I don't know if it would be legal for me to pay for her plane ticket right now and have the departure date be the day after our 18th birthday and don't know how she would receive it.
Re: Can I Purchase a Plane Ticket at 17 for Someone else
You and your family would have to be idiots to get in the middle of somebody else's family business.
But, no, there's nothing illegal about buying her a plane ticket for a trip dated after her 18th birthday.
However, you might find that airlines and travel agents might not sell you a ticket because you are still a minor.
Why don't you just have a little patience and wait until February when you are both 18?
