Are Criminal Records Sealed if the Victim is a Minor
My question involves criminal records for the state of: New york.
Back in 2011/2012, I was sexually abused and my accusation towards my abuser was rape. I never knew his exact charges but I know my attorney went for statutory rape and endangering the welfare of a child. I went infront of a jury and told my side, the only thing I ever heard after that is he was going to prison for a duration of 1-3 years. He ended up only staying for 1. I've been looking everywhere for these court records online since I no longer live in New York State anymore and I can't find them. Was the case sealed since at the time I was a minor? I've searched his name, city and birthday and there's nothing. No mugshot, no arrest records, warrants, charges. He's not even on the sex offender registry.

If the offender was prosecuted in juvenile court or as a youthful offender, that could be why you don't find a record. His adult record would not be sealed by virtue of your age, and nothing in his adult criminal record would identify you.
If you're looking at free sites, that could be why you're not finding complete data. If you're searching the NY sex offender registry, I suggest checking with them to see if they would list an offender who has moved out of state -- which is a possibility you should consider.

He was 19 at the time of the crime so he wasn't prosecuted in a juvenile court. I was the juvenile in the situation. And he didn't move out of state, I did
