Caught Shoplifting, Left Items but License Plate Was Recorded
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Nevada

I was caught shoplifting around 150 $ worth of things from a Safeway in my town. When the employee approached me I dropped the items by his feet and continued to my car. I believe he may have gotten pictures of my license plates. This happened 2 and a half days ago. I know leaving the items doesn't change the fact I tried to steal them. My main question is: if the police took a report with my license plates, wouldn't they have shown up by now? I would assume as soon as they associated an address with the plates, they would have come to at least ask questions by now. Does anyone know if it usually takes a while or will they go looking immediately. Thank you for the quick replies

Depends how busy the police investigators are. Yours is not the crime of the century and it could take them a while to get around to investigating it.

I suggest you stay out of safeway and stop stealing things.
