Disorderly Conduct Charges After a Domestic Quarrel
My question involves restraining orders in the State of ct ,
never been in any kind of trouble before before this , my girlfriend and i got in a heated verbal argument and police were called it was late on night and we live in a multi family , there was no hitting or any thing by neither of us but we were yelling and slamming doors , childish i know but it happened . anyhow cops came and im not sure if the reason of having guns in the house legally made a differance but we were both arrested and charged with disordly conduct wich was a night to remember sinc i have never even visited a jail before this , after talking to family relation in court the next day , the judge issued an 6 weeks order on both of us making things so incoviniant more on her cause she had to leave crying and in disbelieve .its been two weeks now and its hard not to call her to even see if shes ok , and im sure she feels the same way . my question is i dont know what to expect we have a hearing than a court day in 4 weeks . will this be dropped ,

Re: Protected Order Don't Know What to Expect
It's up to the court. If either is charged with a crime then that person should expect the no contact order will be continued

warning; do not violate the order. You cannot give her permission to contact yiu and she cannot give permission for you to contact her. This is the courts order and violating it risks the violator getting tossed into jail for violating the order.

First, if it is due to a domestic violence concern, no, it generally isn't up to the individuals. The courts impose a protective order to make sure the at risk party is not coerced to recant their testimony and to protect then in general.

If some other crime is charged courts often impose a restraining order requiring the defendant to have no contact with witnesses. This is to prevent witness tampering.

In either case the individuals generally have no control over the imposition of a restraining order, at least for awhile.

It will teach you the meaning of patience. Think of it as a chance to learn and grow a little.

Well, if you were both arrested, it was definitely more than what the average person would consider just an argument. People don't get arrested just for having arguments.
