What to Do if You Get an Internship Offer When OPT is Past 90 Days of Unemployment
I am on the OPT F1 visa for 12 months with 90 days of unemployment. I just got a full-time paid internship that starts next month, which is already past 90 days period of unemployment allowed. Am I eligible to work with my OPT EAD? By the way, I have married my girlfriend who is a US citizen and filed the petition for permanent residency two months ago, but haven't received a new EAD yet. I would really appreciate if anyone could advise me!
Important dates:
OPT: starts 09/15/15 to 09/14/16
Petition: 11/01/15
Biometric: Last Week
Internship starts: Early Jan to late June

After 90 days of total unemployment, your OPT will be cancelled. If you are in a STEM program you may be able to extend that period to 120 days.

Thank you! I am not in the STEM program. So the only option is to wait until I get a new EAD from my marriage?
