My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Maryland
I was in a long term relationship with wm1. We have children. I became involved with wm2 and had a child with wm2. I repaired (mostly) my relationship with wm1 and moved back in with her and our kids. (Her family owns the deed to the house her name is on the utility bill so I don't think she counts as an "overnight guest") This is also my official place of residence. I have never married. I dont have any custody agreements. Wm1 and I both have full time daytime jobs. Wm2 works evening to early morning hours and if I want to see my son it has to be during those times or on weekends. Heres the problem- wm2 doesn't want wm1 near my son. So i can't watch him in my own home. She has told me she will take me to court and she will take him from me if wm1 ever comes near him. She has provided over 50% of the care for him. I've looked at similar topics and a common argument is she would have to agree to the same terms. She would be perfectly happy to agree to the same terms because she doesn't want to be with anyone else so she isn't planning on having live-in partner.
I know the courts favor women and I know fathers who want to be in their children's lives but arent allowed. What are my rights because I feel like I don't have many.
You need to file in court to establish custody and a parenting schedule so that W2 knows that she cannot call the shots. W2 is ignoring the fact that all of your children are siblings and have the right to know each other and spend time together.
