    Advice Needed For Collections Lawsuits
I had posted here a while ago (see post) http://www.expertlaw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13094

I was never able to get my bills consolidated because I am not making enough money to come up with a monthly payment.

Today I was served papers to go to court by one of the 2 credit card companies I owe... I owe them 3500.00 dollars. I have to go to something called a mediation hearing on Feb 8th.

GOD I am so freaked out... I do not have ANY extra money... I am 2 weeks behind on my son's daycare tuition, praying that I can make it till 1/15 when my paycheck comes... it is only 1/2 my usual check because I didn't get paid for the christmas break (I'm a teacher).

What can I do? I'm in deferrment on my student loan.. that is in good standing but it will be coming out of deferment soon... then I will need another 250/month.

My marriage is REALLY crappy now and my husband is ready to divorce me as it is... I didn;t tell him about the court yet... gotta do that tomorrow.

WHAT CAN I DO???? Any Ideas?
    HELP!

As I see it, you can pay your bills, declare bankruptcy (not a realistic option for such a small amount of debt), or wait to see what the do to collect the judgments.

    Mr. Knowitall, please reply....
(and anyone else who has a thought as well)

I know that 12,000.00 might not be a lot of money for bankruptcy but it is a HUGE amount to me as I do not have a means of repaying even a part of it.

(That's 3500.00 for this charge bill, about 7000.00 for another charge and then roughly 2000 in medical bills.) I know the student loan won't be going away and that alone is going to be 250/month when it comes out of deferment in March or April. I barely make the weekly daycare bill now.

To top all of that crap off, my husband is not going to help me pay this at all... he already said so, since it was all from before our marriage.

Any ideas on what to do next? What can I expect from the mediation hearing? What can I do to make that a little easier? What should I do to prepare for that?
