Talking to an Underage Girl
I was talking to a girl and later found out she was underage. Now please note that I was never talking sexually to this girl and I never suggested anything sexual. However, I've lately been trying to avoid this girl because I don't want to get into any trouble and I'm just not interested in talking to her anymore. She used to be a cool friend, but she seems a bit crazy to be honest.
So the main question here is: will I get in trouble for talking to her? Like I said, nothing sexual or anything. But she seems like the type of girl to try and report someone if she doesn't get her way.
Thanks in advance for any helpful replies.

Re: Underage Girl Talking
I am barely 19 years of age.
Re: Underage Girl Talking
Stop all contact immediately.
Re: Underage Girl Talking
I have, but she keeps trying to contact me back. I just don't want to get into any trouble. Because I haven't really done anything "illegal" but this girl is insane.

You can't ignore her? Block her number? Seriously?
Re: Underage Girl Talking
I did after I made that post.
Re: Underage Girl Talking
Talking or chatting will not be a criminal act, in and of itself. The content could change that. But, if it was not anything untoward, then you should be in the clear ... legally.
Is this a girl you know from school or around town? Or simply someone you met online?

Other than things like threats of violence, solicitation for sex, or some kind of conspiracy to commit a crime talk alone won’t get you into legal trouble. But be very careful. It’s easy to stray into trouble, especially if you go beyond talk. For example, if she sends you a naked picture of herself, that could in theory get you both into serious legal trouble for child porn. Today’s smart phones make that sort of problem all too easy to fall into.

What others have said. If everything is as you describe it, you're fine - for now. Stop talking to her.

There was no nudity or anything like that involved.
