What to Do when Every Store You Go In, You Are Followed by Loss Prevention
My question involves civil rights in the State of: Las Vegas, Nevada
My mom has been complaining for years now that every chain retail store she goes into she is followed by the store manager or a loss prevention officer. She says shes even had the manager come over and insist on bagging her items as well.
I don't know if this is a figment of her imagination, severe paranoia or actually true. I need to know how I can find out if she is on a "blacklist" so to speak and if so, how we can get her removed from it.
Shes never actually stolen anything in her life, shes a very shy and introverted person and would never have the "balls" to steal anything. So she is in fact innocent.

It's one of the first two.

There's no such thing.

Personally, I would walk up to whoever was following her, take them by the arm and say, "Cool, I get my own concierge. Now, show me where the bargains are and let's shop!"

Just say "Leave me alone so I can shoplift in peace."

If you haven't been with her when she says this happens, I would be inclined to think it is her imagination.
If on the other hand you have observed this when you are with her, here are a few things to consider. Does this happen to every customer in the store ? If not, what is it about her that is different than the other customers. Does she dress and or act differently, etc ?

Considering that most stores - even national chains - do NOT have regular staff assigned to loss prevention duties, and those that do are regularly staffed for all hours, you have to wonder as to the truth of her belief. Similarly, management has better things to do than follow suspicious customers.

How do you know for a fact that she has never stolen anything in her life?
You would be surprised at what skeletons are in peoples closets.

Why don't you go shopping with her and see if it really happens.
