Unemployed, Pregnant Teenager Wants to Get Emancipated
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Indiana

I am 16 years old and I have a 19 year old boyfriend. Right now, and for awhile, my mom just hasn't put me back in school. I started homeschool sophomore year and when junior year came she never signed me up again, for anything! I want to atleast get my GED or something but she won't do it. I also have been asking to be put in driving classes, she says she looks into it but never does. I don't even have my permit. She won't let me get a job until I have my license. I also just recently found out I'm pregnant, she doesn't know yet but I'm going to tell her soon, I'm 5 weeks now. I want to get emancipated because I need to do something with my life, especially considering I have a kid on the way. If I did get emancipated, I would move in with my boyfriend. He works with his dad right now but is talking about applying to Toyota because they pay good and also have full coverage health care. If I did move in with him, me and the baby would definitely be taken care of, plus I would be getting a job. I'm sorry this was so long, there was just a lot to say.

The answer is, no, you have absolutely no chance of getting emancipated.

You do not meet any of the necessary criteria for emancipation except possibly being age 16.

Your chances of emancipation are zero.

If you guys actually truthfully read the things that I said you would see it isn't my choice to be uneployed and not in school. That's why I want to get emancipated, so I actually can. But I'm gonna guess you don't care. :)

It doesn't matter whether it's your choice or not. It doesn't matter whether we care or not. If you don't meet the requirements, you don't meet the requirements. If you don't meet the requirements, the state is not going to allow you to be emancipated no matter what your reasons are or no matter what you plan to do afterwards.

The fact that you are pregnant means that you will be seen as needing more supervision, not less. The fact that you would need your boyfriend's help to pay your expenses means you are not self-sufficient. You do not qualify to be emancipated. Whether you like the rules or not.

The law doesn't care about your excuses. The law cares about making sure the taxpayers aren't footing the bill for teens who think they know everything and think they can manage all by themselves in the Big Ol' World.

It's your choice to get pregnant. It's your choice to go through with the pregnancy. Alas you've also chosen to not bother with little things such as reading comprehension.

Thats funny cause my friend got emancipated with the exact same circumstances. You guys say the same exact thing on every post, even on ones where they have a job and can support themselves. I read the other forums. Just because I'm 16 doesn't mean I dumb.

Also, you guys act like emancipated teenagers are the ones using up most of the taxpayers money when in reality it mostly goes to lazy middle aged adults. I don't think I'm on top of the world, a matter of fact, if I did I wouldn't be on this forum. Adults can put teenagers down as much as they want and say they're whats ruining everything but you all are the ones who ruined the economy. Guess who's gonna have to fix all of YOUR guys mistakes? Us. Almost every adult is the same, they think they're so much better. Don't tell me you guys don't either because all you do is get on these forums and talk down to everyone. I'm not mad about the answer, I can easily handle not getting what I want. I'm mad that you guys are assholes on almost every single forum I read on. This website is shit.

It doesn't really matter if you think I am lying honestly, it happened either way. She's married now

Oh no she didn't. Either she's lying to you, or you're lying to us.

If she's married now, then she had parental permission. There is no state anywhere in the US where a minor can be married without parental consent, permission from the court, or both.
