Can You Revoke a Release You Signed for Participation in a Film or Commercial
My question involves business law in the state of:

First off i´m sorry if i maybe posted in the wrong section of the forum, but i´m german and my english is limited.

    To say what happened:

One of my buddies and i both visited california last may and participated at a natural bodybuilding" competition. After that a women approached my girlfriend and asked her if i and my buddy want participate in a short commercial for a steakhouse + a short movie on youtube. Wehad to sign a short contract and got both 150 $.

Now i´m back home and saw the result and i´m shocked. The way wer are presented + the text they used is pretty bad and insulting towards us. I wrote them an email that i demand them to delete that but they say we have a contract.

What can i do? I know my possibilities here from germany are limited but i want that removed.

You will need to have the contract reviewed to see what was encompassed by the release, and then you'll have to consider if it's worth hiring a lawyer to litigate the issue.

It was not much in the contract. It basicly said only that we make a short movie + picture commercial and the respective amount of money we would get. It didn´t say what text is used and so on and that was also not said when it was done and performed. I just fear since it is free in the internet, that it could be harmful for our future. We are only named by our forname but with google picture view its easy to find us.

Sorry, "basically said" doesn't cut it.

We can't comment without reading the contract word for word.

With millions or billions of images on the internet, you'll be old news soon enough and the world won't even recognize you.

Consult a US lawyer but, in the end, I doubt if there's anything you can do about it.

If you put my picture in google picture search it automatically leads to that and i don´t want that.

OK, so show the contract to a lawyer!
