Disturbing the Peace Charge for Fighting in Public
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Nevada
I was arrested for drunkenly fighting in downtown Elko, Nevada with a good friend of mine. I was charged with Disturbing the Peace. We cooperated with the Police officers. I have never been charged with anything in my life. I don't want to go to Jail. Is there a chance I would be sentenced to jail time? Do I need to get a Lawyer? Thank you
Re: Disturbing the Peace Charge for Fighting in Public
It never hurts to consult a lawyer.
For a first offense disorderly conduct charge with no prior criminal record, the odds of jail are vanishingly small. You should explore to see if you can get an outcome that allows you to avoid a conviction.
