Child Support Judgement Enforcement in Spain
I have a judgement against my child's father who resides in Spain for back child support. I understand that Spain is not a participant in the Treaty that reciprocates with the U.S. In child support enforcement, so I am not in a good situation.

However, most of Western Europe is party of the treaty. Has anyone heard any updates on when/if more European countries are considering joining?

At the least, I believe my son would have a number of years after he reaches the age of majority to collect on what will be a growing judgement, and hopefully, in years to come, Spain might be a participant / more cooperative in assisting on collecting on the judgement?

You'd need to be looking at the relevant laws in Spain.

I have no idea whether this will help but it's at least a contact number: http://www.ncsea.org/resources-info/...untries/spain/

Have you posted here before? I'm thinking you have.

Hi, I have the same problem as mominus. I was wondering if it was possible to contact the OCSC and see if they can help us petition officials in Spain to enforce US judgements. It seems bizarre to me that countries like Portugal are members and Spain is not. It would seem like a no-brainer to me because it saves the Spanish government the cost of issuing judgments in Spain.
