What Do I Need to Do to Bring a Teen Student to the U.S. to Continue Her Studies
We are interested in what we need to do to bring a friends child to the US to continue her High School Education. She is from Rwanda if that matters.
We have acceptance from the local high school. Do we need legal guardianship? Would she need to apply for a student VISA?
    suggestions?

I can't answer the question you're asking, but I know that if you intend to put her on your health insurance once she gets here you will have to have legal, court ordered guardianship to do that.

Your post says you have acceptance from local HS? That says it all. Yes I know what F-1 says. And so does Mr Knowitall......but if local school choses to ignore Federal law I'm not about to say it's your duty to go remind them.
You didn't mention your state....in mine it's OK to register a student with a simple statement that you are caring for them as if they were your own and not just for education ...go figure that one ....

I'm a fan of nonresident students must pay tuition....but it's a laughing matter in many education circles

And it's utterly irrelevant to this thread.
