Emancipation for a 17 Year Old
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: West Virginia. I have a 16 year old friend who will be 17 in a couple of months. My question is can she be emancipated when she turns 17. Her environment at home is very disgusting. Her Mother's boyfriend has done sexual things to her and she told her mother but she will not believe her. Her mother and her and her brother still live in the same house as him. On another note her mom always makes her clean the whole house which is very dirty. Dog and Cat urine and feces all over the place. She really needs some advice on what to do. She has a place to go and live, also she earns money for doing odd jobs, she is in school and she has financial help by us if needed. What should she do?

Read the stickied threads, as you should have done before posting.
If a minor is being abused, she should contact protective services.

No. Under the circumstances you have described, emancipation is not an option.
As you would know if you'd read the stickies.
Next question?
Re: Emancipation for a 17 Year Old
Emancipation is not an option....however if one is being sexually assaulted at home by some adult in the household a call to police and local CPS agency sure is an option?
