Could My Ex Go to Jail for Lying in Court
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: California
I've had my suspicions that my ex is lying about my kids and their place of residence. I've been told his by his ex and my 8 year old daughter had mentioned it too. They both have also told me that my ex does have a personal cell phone that he just doesn't want to give to me. It's no wonder getting a hold of him and my kids is so difficult because he wants me to call his mothers phone only. He claims that he doesn't have a phone which I believe is bogus.
I deserve to know where my kids reside and be able to contact them without too much hassle and going through his mother. This has been going on for the past few years since my kids began living with him. It is getting really tiresome his lying ways.
Court orders do say to update contact info so many hours or days after the change.
In court when the judge asked my ex what his address was because it had been so hard to serve him, he remained that his address was at XYZ street. The judge had him put in a change of address as it had been typo in the documents. So he went and put in that change in the courthouse. If I hire a private investigator to follow him to see where he resides and sleeps at night and it turns out he is lying, could he go to jail? Wouldn't this be considered perjury? I don't know how I could prove that he is lying about his phone number but not having a direct number has caused misunderstandings in the past.

Good heavens, aren't you just a peach?
No, he's not going to jail. You'll complain, he'll simply hand over the information to the court and tell the Judge that you know fine well where he lives and are simply trying to get him into trouble. His address will be updated, and life will go on.
