Can I Stay with My Dad

My question involves guardianship in the State of: Pennsylvania

I am 17 and my mother has custody of me. My mother and I constantly fight and while we have gone to counseling, things have just gotten worse. Living with her literally make me want to commit suicide. I don't approve of some of the things she does (illegal drugs) and that is part of the rift between us. I don't think we could ever get along while living in the same house. Yesterday she told me that if things were so bad at her house then I should live with my dad. Can I go to my dad's house without asking her? I am currently babysitting and she called my boss in which my charge answered, then my mom proceeded to ask my charge if I had moved in with my boss. Sounds like she wants rid of me, right?? Is there anything I can do??

Presumably this is yet another, "Mom has custody, and I want to live with dad" question.

You can ask your parents. If they agree, you can move in with dad. If they do not, and he has grounds to do so, dad can consider petitioning for a change of custody.

My mom told me I should go live with him, does that make a difference at all??

If she gives permission, then of course.

But if she had, would you be asking the question?

As you know, when I replied to your post the entire text you had posted was "My question involves guardianship in the State of: Pennsylvania".

As previously stated, if your parents agree that you can live with dad, you can live with dad. There's a difference between an isolated comment made in anger, and an agreement.
