Warrants and Criminal Background Checks
i recently had a criminal background check performed through kycourts.net. the form had a ticket that I had received several years ago. The form also said that this was not an official background check. i though that all counties in a state turned in all warrants, convictions, etc. into the state. so why is it not an official background check? They told me an official background check would take anywhere from 6-8 weeks to come back. they would have to contact every county in the state to do so. why? if they turn in everything to the state courts. wouldn't outstanding warrants/unserved in each county and convictions in each county show? i'm confused. and where can i get and "official" background check through the state?

A: My guess is that not all counties turn this stuff in.
Q: They told me an official background check would take anywhere from 6-8 weeks to come back. they would have to contact every county in the state to do so. why?
A: See answer above.
Q: if they turn in everything to the state courts. wouldn't outstanding warrants/unserved in each county and convictions in each county show?
A: Apparently not.
Q: i'm confused. and where can i get and "official" background check through the state?
A: Ask whoever "they" is in your post.
Re: Warrants and criminal background checks
ok.
aren't warrants turned into the state government by counties so that other counties may bring the charged in if pulled over for a traffic violation?
