Fishing with Radio Controlled Boats in Oregon
Sorry if this seems like the wrong forum but there was no "right" forum for this.
I'm wandering if it is legal in Oregon, to use a powered remotely controlled boat to catch fish and drag them to shore under the power of the boat. That is my question.
Thanks in advance!
Re: Fishing with Radio Controlled Boats in Oregon
Are you speaking of ocean, rivers, inland fresh water, what?
Re: Fishing with Radio Controlled Boats in Oregon
Rivers, reservoirs, lakes and ponds. Basically any fresh water fishing.

I assume you mean that a power boat will drag some sort of net through the water to catch the fish.
I quick googling turned up a variety of sources of information on the topic of fishing with nets in Oregon.
Study up.
If that doesn't help you, I suggest you call up the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Department and ask.
Re: Fishing with Radio Controlled Boats in Oregon
No, no. I radio controlled boat - meaning it is a small unmanned boat controlled by a wireless transmitter. The boat would weigh around 10 pounds and have a remotely controlled reel system. It is like a toy, only it's more professional and like a tool. This is a common thing people do as can be found on Youtube. Just trying to figure out if it is legal in Oregon.
Re: Fishing with Radio Controlled Boats in Oregon
According to the Oregon sport fishing regulations, what you intend is not legal.

rings or pots.

Thank you for the reply. I had a feeling that would be the case for Oregon. Thank you everyone for the help. Guess I'll have to stick to the rod and reel method. :)
