Emancipation From an Abusive Home, Suffering From Depression
Im 16 i currently live in kentucky i want to get emancipated from my mom because about six months ago her fiance had beaten her to the point to where she could have died. this hasnt been the first time there have been multiple times he has beaten her and a few times he hasthreatened to shoot my mom me and my sister with the gun he had in the safe. hes has done six months in jail and now hes out an back at my moms house. a few times my mom has threatened me herself sayin im a dumb bitch an that shes gonna hit me and one time she got so mad over something so small an said she would slice my throat. also about 8 months ago i was admitted into a mental hospital i was diagnosed with extreme depression they also said i could have bipolar, multiple personality disorder, and scitsafrania but i had to be further examined. she never set anything up for me to be examined and stopped picking my medacine up. i also had to attend therapy the therapist had tried multiple times to call her to set up my appointments and she never answered or returned any calls or messages. so after weeks of trying to contact her the closed my case. i also have to make my own doctors appointments bc she wont make them i have take myself to the hospital when somethings wrong bc she wont. i was suppose to be home schooled this year so my current school unenrolled me and shes not worried about she hasnt called about anything. she has also lost my birth certificate and i have to call to get a new one bc she wont. i had to go down to get a new social security card bc she lost it an wouldnt get a new one. i have been tryin to get a job for months but cant bc my mom lost all my stuff to get a id. i have to do everything for myself bc she wont. i need to know if i can be emancipated...

    Not at all.

If you feel you're being abused, call child protective services.

To qualify for emancipation you need to be able to support yourself, while simultaneously going to school and getting better than average grades.
