Warrant for Fishing Without a License
I reside in good ol Washington State. About 6 months ago I was issued a ticket for fishing without a license. More or less I was on a dock with fishing poles without a fishing license but none the less I was ticketed. After my little trip I put the ticket in the back of my mind and since then I pretty much forgot about it till now.
I am in the middle of be employed with one of the casinos here. They did a criminal background check and guess what came back to bite me, those dang fish. So now I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to get this warrant for my arrest (from the fishing without a license deal) resolved so I can get on with my life.
So my question is what would be the quickest way to get this nasty predicament off my back? and If I just went to the court house to see what they say I should do about it, would I end up behind bars because of the warrant? Even though I just want to pay my dues and move on.

A: Surrender. They probably just want your dough, not your body.

You need to get the matter taken care of as quickly as possible. It is normally easier to deal with an active warrant by being proactive rather than waiting and seeing if you will get by with it.
Depending on the courts you can seek to have the warrant recalled and get a court date set to dispose of the fishing w/o a license and the FTA or you may be able to get both of them put on the docket pretty quickly and take care of them in court without actually getting served with the warrrant. You also have the option of turning yourself in on the warrant--with an FTA there may be a bond you can post or you may be held in custody and taken before the court.
In my view it is going to be best to talk to an attorney or attorneys because the procedure can vary so much from court to court and the FTA certainly makes the case more complicated than it would otherwise be. An attorney may also be able to negotiate the FTA away based upon a plea to the fishing charge.

Is there a pay the fine and don't get arrested option?
or is this something that I should talk about with an attorney?

Again, go see a lawyer.

Well, I called in and asked what I should do. Ended up I went to the courthouse, paid a little fine and now I'm back in business.
So, thanks everyone for your help. It was much appreciated.
