Misdemeanor Public Intoxication Charge
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Tennessee
So I was arrested a few days ago for public intoxication and released after 8-9 hours. I looked up my case on the courts website and it says the charged/cited offense's disposition is "dismissed".
It says my bond was 1,000$ but I was released after 8-9 hours like I said so I guess that doesn't make sense since I never paid.
It says the case is "concluded", and defendant status "concluded".
Yet I see a scheduled court date at the bottom for tomorrow that I was never informed of to my knowledge. Do I have to go to court? Under the court appearance date is says "reason: review".
Am I in deep shit? I was never told I had to go to court that I remember, I was released without having to post bail, and my girlfriend who of course was panicked the night it happened called the sheriff's department and a few other places to inquire what would happen as far as the charges and if I had to come to court or anything, and she was supposedly told that the charge was "wiped clean", and that I would not need to appear in court.
Now however I am a little apprehensive and nervous.
So long winded but question is, do I have to appear in court? I will be calling them tomorrow morning to make 100% sure but I thought I would ask somewhere online as well.
Thank you for your time in advance and any help you can offer.
Re: Misdemeanor Public Intoxication Charge
If you have a court date scheduled for today, go to court and find out what is happening with your case. We're certainly not in a position to tell you that you should miss a court date, and we have no access to your court records.
