Is there anyway to not get this incident on my record if it is a federal charge? This is my first incident and I have no criminal record. Not even a speeding ticket record.

Is there any way I can not have this incident put in my record? This is my first offense ive EVER committed. I have no prior record or even a speeding ticket record. Is there a possibility the charge can be dropped to a lesser charge? Also if military mps turn this over to the civilian courts does that mean its no longer a federal offense and then will be under the state law?

The time to worry about this going on your record was before you stole. It is no longer within your control whether you do or do not.

Get a lawyer, and speak to him about what options for a reduced charge or a diversion program may be available.

If convicted, it's forever. There's no federal expungement. You need a lawyer.

That's a federal offense, you'll be seen in federal court (it's also a criminal case), you'll pay a fine, be banned from AAFES and whoever your sponsor is will get a pretty stern talking to.

There may be a way, but that's a discussion you need to have with your federal defender or the lawyer you retain to represent you. If you hire your own lawyer, be sure to find one who regularly practices in federal court.

Your personal inconvenience is not relevant .
now if your attorney needs a bit of extra time to come up to speed to,adaquately defends you..he or,she might get an extension.
if it's on Federal lands..be sure the attorney is up to speed on Federal issues....
