Pregnant Teen Emancipation
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: NC
Hello im 15 years old i will be 16 july the 9th i am hoping to apply for emancipation as soon as my birthday hits. I want to move in with my boyfriend and his family. I have court july the 2nd and will be on probation and have certain programs where people will be visiting my house i still live with my mom but if i legally am emancipated can they visit my new house address where im staying instead of the prior one with my family, how long will the emancipation process take, and can they dna test the father if they are suspicious even though i will be 16 & with emancipation legally my own person? Any help will be appreciated please no critisism.
Also, what all do i need to get emancipated i have parents permission, a place to stay, financial support, the money to pay for the emancipation case, about to have a kid. Do you need to have serious home problems to apply for emancipation or what?
Re: Pregnant Teen Emancipation
Is your desire for emancipation so your boyfriend does not get in trouble for statutory rape?
Re: Pregnant Teen Emancipation
In NC there may be a need for a court order to permit the marriage as well.
Re: Pregnant Teen Emancipation
You have absolutely no chance at emancipation. End of story.
And emancipation doesn't make your boyfriend's crime go away.

You can be ordered to live with your mom while on juvenile probation even if you're emancipated.

Starting from your sixteenth birthday? I think it's reasonable to project that it will take two years before you become emancipated.

Are you talking about the juvenile court? If they believe you are the victim of statutory rape, they can refer the matter for investigation and possible prosecution. Emancipation won't change the fact of whether or not a crime occurred.
