What Can the Petitioner Expect After a Contempt Hearing
My question involves child support in the State of: Oklahoma
I am in the beginning stages of a visitation/custody petition. One of the first objectives of my attorney was to file a contempt motion for unpaid child support and child care dating back to 2011. The contempt hearing is taking place soon and I am insure what to expect. This is not the first time he's been behind and I have submitted his full payment history. He's also 18 months behind on a child from another relationship. He's never been cited with contempt before. That being said, can I expect that he will be given a timeline to pay and then there will be a review or will he be cited that date? I'm asking for attorneys fees, will I likely be awarded even if he's not cited? Will I have to take him to small claims if he does not reimburse me timely for the fees?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Re: Contempt Hearing and then What
Small claims won't touch it. If you're not awarded legal fees, that's pretty much the final decision.
Your attorney should be guiding you.
