Providing Required Documents to Get a Social Security Number
My question involves my wife living in another state and she has our son with her. I need her SSN for paperwork and I can not get her to give it to me. I went to the SSN administration and basically they will only help me with the right documents. I have his birth certificate but they need Immunization records or day care records. He is only 2 years old. She is being very difficult with the situation and will not cooperate. We are not divorced. How do I get her to work with me or what can I do. She has made it clear she refuses to give it to me.
Re: Its Really a Document Concern
You can take her to court and ask the court to order her to give you her SS#. Whether that will happen or not is another question entirely.
Now. Why do you need the paperwork? The child is with her, yes? What's your end goal?
Re: Its Really a Document Concern
I am wanting to set up trust funds and college funds for him. I want him to have something when he is old enough to go to college with out burdening the state to pay when we can do it now. As for her having the child with her that is temporary. there are oter future goals to change his home status but thats another challenge in itself.
