Can You Give Somebody Guardianship to End Protective Services Involvement
My question involves guardianship in the State of: Minnesota
I have social services involved in mine and my sons life right now and my social worker is threatening to terminate my right and take my son from me... Can I just sign temporary gardenship over to my mom so they can't take him and so they get out of our lives
Re: Can I Sign Temporary Gardenship Over if Social Services Are Involved
Where is the other parent?
You can ask if social services will allow you transfer custody - but don't be surprised if they say "no".
You really need an attorney though.

There trying to terminate both are rights over something so small that I don't think they can so we just want to give him to my mom temporarily

If by that you mean that there are presently court proceedings pertaining to your children, once the court takes jurisdiction you have to work through the court. Your mother can put herself forward as a possible placement. Even if the child is placed with a relative before court proceedings commence, depending on the full facts, social services may deem it appropriate to continue with protective proceedings based upon prior events in order to ensure the safety of the children.

What makes you say that?

If you don't think they can terminate your rights over the current issue, then why the desire to give your mother guardianship?
as to the basic question; unless it is a court ordered or sanction appointment of guardianship where the court will be able to have a continued involvement with the child, no, it will not save your parental rights. If you think you appointing a temporary guardianship that is revocable at will will do anything, well, while it will do something, it will not do what you want it to. What it might do is show the courts how resistant you are to their concerns and resulting directives that you would be willing to attempt to "hide" your child from their purview. If that evokes any reaction, it will surely be a negative reaction by the courts.
