What is the Penalty for Domestic Violence With Serious Injuries

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Wyoming

Me and my wife are still married and she left me and the kids 3 and 6 for a guy that beat up his girlfriend so bad he brock her back in 3 places and held a knife on her throat. there also been time when to cops when to there house for domestic problems like pushing and shoving but no charges on that stuff. He went to court and pled no contest to the charge and got out on bail and it now in North Dakota in his patents custody. my wife is up there too. His sentencing is in June.
My question is what could he be charged with?

But really...why? You need to look out for yourself and your children. In your shoes, I would be seeking out a good divorce attorney, and moving for sole custody of your children.

thanks for the reply and it was kinda for the custody for my kids and I have already filed for divorce and for sole custody. I was just wondering for that reason my kids safty.
