Can You Get Unpaid Restitution Dismissed Due to Disability
My question involves court procedures for the state of: Tennessee
This civil case is attached to a criminal matter and the criminal was settled in 2008 there is restitution being paid bud now a lot has changed, I have become disabled. I was excepted (because I was working at the time) a payment of $200.00 a month in restitution. in 2012 I had a accident that left me in a coma for 18 days which was not my fault, leaving me with a traumatic brain injury and vision problems among other things, and I can never work again. I bring home 900.00 a month. by the time I pay bills meds etc., there is nothing let because I am married I do not can not get government aid. We have offered them a settlement to end this it will be the third I think and they say no just out of spite. He is a vindictive old man.
I now have Dementia because of my head trauma. They put a " lien less pending" on our house 8 years ago and will not go to court and get a judgment. What can we do my attorney seems to do nothing its the good ole boy system here . His attorney was the clerk and master and I had to go to the board od professional responsibility once already I just don't know what to do anymore Please please help!!!

Prior debts and responsibilities (especially court ordered restitutions for past misdeeds) do not just go away because "now a lot has changed" in your life. There may well be options in your situation. But, it is beyond any internet forum to guide you - you need the assistance of an attorney. If you feel that your present attorney is not acting in your best interest, you need to consult with another attorney.
