Mandatory Appearance in Juvenile Court
My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Ohio
First let me say I am 17 and have had my drivers license for over a year. Yesterday I got pulled over for speeding. The police officer was nice enough to let me off with a warning, but did give me a ticket that states I did not have License on person, and also insurance card not on person. He said I have a mandatory court date at a juvenile court. What does all this mean? Does this mean if I just bring proof of insurance and my license, the ticket will be dropped? Will I have to pay any fines?
Re: Mandatory Appearance in Juvenile Court
A mandatory appearance means that you are required to go to court.
If the issue was that you simply forgot to bring your driver's license and proof of insurance with you, it is possible that the prosecutor would agree to dismiss the charges upon proof that you were properly insurance and licensed at the time of the incident; it's possible that such a disposition would still involve a fine.
Re: Mandatory Appearance in Juvenile Court
Such as a small fine like $30 for court fees or a really big fine?
