Completing Form N-400 With a Minor in Possession Charge
In 2001, at 17 years old, I received an MIP citation for possession of alcohol. I was charged and pled guilty. I attended a Youth Program and then had the charges dismissed.
I need to know how to correctly answer the following questions;
23. Have you ever been arrested, cited, or detained by any law enforcement officer (including any and all immigration officials or the U.S. Armed Forces) for any reason?
24. Have you ever been charged with committing, attempting to commit, or assisting in committing a crime or offense?
25. Have you ever been convicted of a crime or offense?
26. Have you ever been placed in an alternative sentencing or a rehabilitative program (e.g., diversion,
deferred prosecution, withheld adjudication, deferred adjudication)?
Thanks for your advice :) Please let me know if you need more details.

Re: N-400 and Minor in Possession Charge - How to Answer N400 Question Correctly
Yes, the form requires you to disclose things even if they were subsequently dismissed or expunged.
23. Answer yes and explain what happened.
24. Answer yes, and refer to the previous explanation
25. The answer on this depends on the nature of the youth program. Most likely it's no. This isn't a very big issue anyhow since they already know just what is going on based on the previous questions.
26. Answer yes and refer to the previous explanation.
This, properly disclosed, isn't likely to be an issue.
