    Parents Not Understanding of Bisexuality
I don't know where this fits in, and it is probably a dumb question but I need some help. Before I ask the question I'll tell the story. First off I'm new to this page. Any who here is the story. My girlfriend of a year and two months recently came out as bi apparently her dad didn't like that idea, and is trying to send her against her will to "christian sexual orientation" counseling, and "making" her stop hanging out with girls, and having girls over at her mom's house. We are both 17 and live in Texas, my understanding is that once you hit 17 in texas you basically have the rights as if you are 21 with the exception of buying tobacco and alcohol and going to clubs. She doesn't want to go, she lives with her mom but her mom doesn't have full custody of her. My question is, is there anything I can tell her that can legally be done? I'm sure it is a stupid question or whatever but I'm just trying to help her out.

Her best option is emancepation if your State has laws for it. She would also need to be self supporting.

She can't afford it, see she lives with her mom. Her dad lives across town, and has barely been around all her life but has joint custody. Her mom is on her side, but they don't know if legally they can refuse. That is what I'm wondering, legally can she refuse to go without her mom or her winding up in a court room or dealing with police?
