    Didn't Do it!
Maximum Speed, Assured Clear Distance Ticket
My question involves traffic court in the State of: Ohio

Good evening everyone, I am no expert and is hard for me to understand the terminology and I want to make sure I have a 100% complete understanding s I can prepare a good defense and make a good case. I was looking at the paper I got from the court clerk regarding my pre trial date. As I'm reading through I noticed that my charges are "11 ORC 4511.21 MAXIMUM SPEED; ASSURED CLEAR DISTANCE"
Can anyone explain to me why I'm being charged with assured clear distance If I pulled into my driveway? What's unsafe about that? I really don't understand it, I'm still waiting on the discovery documents.

I submitted my discovery request and waiting for its arrival. The officer pulled me over in my driveway, he stated he paced me over 50 MPH at a 35 MPN zone. I know that I was not speeding and is very intimidating the thought of going to court against a police officer. It sucks that as I'm trying to do my best to drive safely and maintain a good driving record something like this happens. I can only hope that I can prove the court I'm innocent of this bogus charges.

Look at the standard description of the statute, "O.R.C. 4511.21 Speed limits - assured clear distance."
