Is It Possible to Naturalize As an Adult Without Taking a Citizenship Test
My mother tells me she became a U.S. citizen through her father (U.S. passport and everything), and she's always told me it happened after my birth (I was born in the 90s), and it occurred to me that it didn't really make sense because she had never taken a citizenship test in her life. So I believe that maybe she may be a U.S. citizen born abroad? Would that be correct? We're not quite sure. I spoke with a lawyer and ended up screwed in the end.
The thing is, I'm undocumented and have been here since the age of 3, and I'm wondering if maybe I can prove she is a citizen born abroad, and that she was here a year (or is it 5 years?) before my birth, if I could be an automatic citizen as well?
It's kind of unfair that you can jump the border illegally, have a child here, and your child is an automatic citizen, but they make this countries own citizens jump through hoops to prove their children are citizens?
Also who do I voice this opinion to? A congressman? A senator? I just want my voice to be heard and possibly maybe a change.

We agree. We have been trying to get the ridiculous anchor baby law fixed for decades. That does not mean you have any more rights than any other illegal currently. You are technically a foreign invader of the worst kind, you are an economic terrorist on taxpayers. I live by a simple code. My ancestors were the first here over 1000 years ago. Anyone who arrives in accordance with the laws in place at the time they arrived is welcome to stay. Anyone else needs to just leave.

Just because someone is "illegal" means they don't pay taxes? When you're working under DACA that's definitely false, and you're paying into something you'll probably never see the benefits of. Can't quite tell if you're joking about the "1000 years ago" thing but hey, my ancestors were most likely forced here as slaves, My mother and I are probably the only generation of Canadians, her father was American as well. is there anything I can do to TRY to get changes made? There is like one paragraph that is the bane of my existence "The U.S. citizen parent had been physically present in the U.S. or its territories for a period of at least five years at some time in his or her life prior to the birth, of which at least two years were after his or her 14th birthday. "
And it's awful. I have had DACA, it recently expired, but I'm tired of living like that when I have a family full of U.S. citizens, I didn't ask for this, and I know nothing about living in Canada. Didn't even know anything about this until I was like 17.

I was not kidding about the 1000 years ago. So your mom paid the school district for your education? If your mom is a citizen, she should have been able to make you a citizen. You need an immigration lawyer. Here is an interesting article I just ran across on derivative citizenship:
