My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: Tennessee.

if a judgement is discharged in BK does the judgement holder have to release their lien?

The bankruptcy discharge relates to your dischargeable debt. A lien can survive bankruptcy. If you want to know if you can avoid eventually having to satisfy the lien in order to remove it from whatever property is involved, you will need to share some facts.

So, are you saying that someone sued you for a debt, got a judgment against you and they put a lien on your home for the judgment? So you have a lien for the judgment and for the mortgage? If not, please explain more fully.
