    Will an Assault Charge Affect a Permanent Resident
    My question involves criminal law for the state of: Iowa
    Hello i am a green card holder for 10 years i was have got charge assault my attorney told me i should take a classes family counseling and will get probation for 2 years and will not be in jail
    i have 3 questions
    1- is that will effect my green card
    2- is that can effect my job
    3- can i travel outside the country to my hometown Algeria because my passport will be expire the end of 2015 and i want see my disable brother (i called P.O) and he told me i can NOT travel while i am in probation
    i can not sleep or eat i am in such hard time so i will be thankful and really need to hear some good news i have never arrested before i don't drink i don't use drugs even i never get speed ticket

    3 - You were told you cannot travel. Why are you asking on a forum.

    You should have considered the consequences before you committed the crime. Assault is a very serious charge.
