    Failure to Show Drivers License
My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: NJ

I got stopped by a state NJ cop for not having my seatbelt on. I forgot my license at home. I have him my name and DOB.... Got two citations. 1. Seat belt 2. Failure to poss DLC... 39:3-29a. Which is a 180 fine. Am I going to have to pay for this? Or can I go to court and bring my license there?

Bring the license. It may save you some money. The relevant portion of NJ statute § 39:3-29 that addresses this states: “If a person charged with a violation of this section can exhibit his driver's license, insurance identification card and registration certificate, which were valid on the day he was charged, to the judge of the municipal court before whom he is summoned to answer to the charge, such judge may dismiss the charge. However, the judge may impose court costs.”
